I got a new camera today. Should serve for some inspiration. It's a Canon 40d and it weighs a ton! For the next month or so there are going to be a lot of practice shots, this is my first DSLR. Hopefully something creative will come out of it : )

So I got this spy lens for xmas and I have been lugging it around for the perfect people watching spot. Waikiki beach is the absolute most chaotic place I could find. So the way it works is that it has a mirror that throws the image at a 90 degree angle so you aim at one object and shoot another. Harder than it sounds. I couldnt figure out my up down left and right so all the shots are diagonal. The other problem is that it doesn't work with zoom lenses unless it is all the way zoomed. So everything is even harder to focus on. Any way I was just playing around and this was my favorite. Then I gave up and went back to my boogie board.

Rainbow after the rain, as seen from Diamond Head.
We had just climbed to the top of Diamond Head and it started to rain Hawaii style. Massive wind and rain. I stuck it out and 10 minutes later it was over and I had this rainbow as my reward. It was breathtaking. You don't see rainbows like this too often.
